Reporting & Moderation

How to tell us when something feels wrong, and how LittleBlueCup may respond to keep people and the platform safer.

LittleBlueCup works best when people feel safe enough to ask for help and safe enough to offer it.

Most people using LittleBlueCup are genuine and want to help.

Sometimes a message, offer, comment, account or Search request needs moderator attention.

Reporting something is not causing trouble. It gives LittleBlueCup the chance to check what happened and protect the community where necessary.

What you can report

You do not need to prove that something is wrong before reporting it. Tell us what concerned you and let moderators look into it.

Suspicious offers

Somebody says they have an item, but the offer, details or circumstances do not feel right.

Pressure for money

Somebody demands payment quickly, applies pressure, avoids reasonable questions or asks for money in a way that feels unsafe.

Dishonest Search requests

A Search request appears deliberately false, misleading, fraudulent or intended to exploit other people.

Harassment or bullying

Somebody is unkind, abusive, judgemental, threatening, persistent or deliberately cruel.

Judgement or parenting criticism

Somebody criticises a family, argues that the person should not need the item, or says the situation should be dealt with through punishment, withholding the item or different parenting.

Privacy concerns

Somebody shares private information, photographs, messages or contact details without an appropriate reason or permission.

Spam or irrelevant messages

Repeated, promotional, unrelated or nuisance messages that interfere with a Search or conversation.

Anything that feels unsafe

You may report a concern even if it does not fit one of these examples or you are not yet sure what is happening.

What happens after a report

Reports are reviewed, not thrown into a void.

  1. 1LittleBlueCup receives the report.
  2. 2An authorised moderator reviews the information provided.
  3. 3The moderator may check relevant messages, content, account activity, Search requests, Searches or previous reports.
  4. 4More information may be requested where it would help.
  5. 5The moderator decides whether any action is appropriate.
  6. 6Serious or repeated concerns may lead to content removal, restrictions, suspension or loss of access.

A report is information for review. It does not automatically prove that somebody has broken the rules, and it does not automatically result in a penalty.

Messages may be reviewed

Platform messaging helps keep conversations about Searches more organised and gives LittleBlueCup a way to respond when something goes wrong.

Messages are not public, but authorised moderators may review them when there is a clear reason.

Moderators may review relevant messages where necessary to:

  • investigate a report
  • protect users
  • identify scams or dishonest offers
  • understand a dispute
  • enforce the Community Values and Terms of Use
  • resolve a safety or technical concern

Moderators are not expected to casually read every conversation. Messages may be reviewed when a report, safety concern or moderation reason makes that necessary.

What moderators can do

Moderator actions are intended to protect people, keep Searches useful and respond proportionately to what has happened.

  • ask for clarification
  • request more information
  • warn a user
  • remove messages
  • hide or remove content
  • decline a Search request
  • pause, close or archive a Search
  • restrict an account
  • suspend an account
  • remove or ban an account
  • escalate a serious concern through the appropriate internal process

Fairness and human judgement

Moderation is not perfect.

Moderators may need to make decisions based on incomplete, conflicting or changing information.

Systems may help organise reports, identify possible risks and keep records, but human judgement remains central.

Where somebody believes a decision was based on missing or misunderstood information, they may contact LittleBlueCup and ask for it to be reviewed. A request for review does not guarantee that the decision will change.

When access may be restricted

LittleBlueCup cannot prevent every problem, but it may limit or remove access where somebody repeatedly or seriously harms the platform or the people using it.

A person's account may be restricted, suspended or removed if they:

  • scam or attempt to scam other people
  • harass, threaten or bully others
  • repeatedly ignore the Community Values
  • create dishonest Search requests or fake offers
  • share private information without permission
  • abuse moderators or other users
  • attempt to exploit vulnerable people
  • bypass account restrictions or moderation decisions

Action should be proportionate to the seriousness, repetition and risk involved. Not every breach results in permanent removal.

Reporting in good faith

People will not be penalised for making a report in good faith, even if moderators decide that no action is needed.

Reports that are knowingly false, malicious, retaliatory or repeatedly used to harass somebody may themselves be treated as misuse.

What LittleBlueCup cannot do

Honesty matters here too. Moderation can reduce risk, but it cannot make every interaction perfect or completely safe.

LittleBlueCup cannot:

  • guarantee that every user or offer is genuine
  • verify every item
  • prevent every scam or harmful message
  • resolve every disagreement
  • police behaviour outside LittleBlueCup
  • guarantee that an item will be found
  • guarantee that every reported concern will lead to visible action

But it can:

  • provide safer routes for communication
  • receive and review reports
  • investigate relevant information
  • warn or restrict people who misuse the platform
  • remove harmful content
  • pause or close unsafe Searches
  • keep appropriate moderation and audit records
  • improve rules and safety guidance when patterns emerge

Reporting helps keep LittleBlueCup useful.

If you are unsure whether to report something, tell us what happened. We would rather check a genuine concern than miss something that could hurt somebody.
