A simple explanation of how photos, videos, audio recordings, and stories may be used within LittleBlueCup.
Photos, clips, voice recordings, and stories often help searches succeed.
People are more likely to search for an item when they understand who they are helping and why the item matters.
Media helps bring a Search to life.
Different searches need different kinds of context. These are examples, not demands.
Several files can share one overall confirmation.
When a Searcher selects several photos or videos together, one overall confirmation normally applies to the whole upload. If an individual file is different, they can mark an exception just for that file.
A video must be considered from beginning to end, including a person who appears only briefly in the background.
Files start private. Staff review every file before it can be selected for public or content use.
Photos or videos of the person who needs the item can be especially helpful because they can show why the item matters. Sharing a person is optional and is never required to receive help.
An additional permission check applies where a file shows a child, or an adult who may not be able to understand or agree to the sharing for themselves.
A disabled adult who understands the sharing and agrees for themselves is treated as an adult able to agree; disability alone does not place somebody in the higher-care category.
LittleBlueCup does not use AI to decide who a person is, whether somebody can agree, whether permission exists, or whether a file is safe to publish.
Website permission and social or platform permissions are separate. Agreeing to a Website Search does not automatically grant Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp, YouTube, audio, supplied-video, success-story, roundup or future-compilation use.
Searchers can remove their own uploads from their Search media. Withdrawing permission prevents future use of the affected file or channel; material already published or shared elsewhere may not always be fully recoverable.
Staff-created and other private working media remains separate from Searcher uploads and does not become public merely because staff can review it.
Uploaded content may be used to create Search materials that help people understand and share the Search.
Nothing here means people must appear on camera.
You can choose what you share.
The platform should support different comfort levels.
Searches often perform better when people can understand the story behind the item.
This is why applicants may be encouraged to provide:
But they are never forced to.
Found moments can give the whole community a bit more hope.
When a Search is fulfilled, applicants may choose to provide:
Participation is optional. Success Stories help future searches by showing that the system works.
Consent settings exist for different types of content.
Users should only be shown in ways they have agreed to.
Where practical, users can contact LittleBlueCup and request updates to permissions.
We will be honest about what can and cannot be changed. Content already published and shared may not be fully recoverable, but we will do what is practical and respectful.
LittleBlueCup does not:
We are grateful whenever people choose to share their stories, photos, clips, or updates. Those stories help searches succeed, help the community grow, and help future families feel less alone.
